Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev died 30 years ago, on November 10, 1982. He had ruled the country for 18 years. The death of the Secretary General became a serious shock for many people, a kind of point of no return. Yes, the old world that had been cursed and sneered many times crashed but nobody knew what the new one would be like… Brezhnev’s attendants and eye-witnesses of the events will tell about that period of time: his personal doctor Mikhail Kosarev, his guard Vladimir Medvedev, the permanent interpreter Viktor Sukhodrev as well as Mikhail Gorbachev and even the organizers of the large-scale Kremlin funerals whose names have not been known to the general public for a long time. For the first time the audience will see secret documents and learn what information is kept in the shorthand reports of the funeral committee’s meetings, in notes and reports executed by the special services. This is the true story of the death of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR and a detailed description of a typical “death of the epoch”.
