Amur tiger sometimes called Siberian or Russian lives in the Far East of Russia in Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories. Extermination of the predator and destruction of its habitat areas have decreased the number of individuals to 50 for the last one hundred years and in 40s of the last century it happened to be on the verge of extinction. The great demand for the tiger bones and inners being used in the traditional Chinese medicine promotes the illegal hunt. After the measures was taken the population level started to grow. The last records show that the population of the predator continues to increase. The head of the state V.V. Putin personally visited one of the wildlife preservations and addressed the summit in Saint Petersburg in November, 2010 devoted to protection of the tigers. Biologists and employees of the hunt supervision department together with the operators follow traces of the animal and show other inhabitants of taiga: an Amur leopard, a Far Eastern red deer and an axis deer.
